Oh my giddy wotsits! What an exciting day!
I should start by saying, this actually happened at teatime on Wednesday but with preparing dinners, dentist visits, baths, boccies and bedtime...oh and dealing with 3 little chesty coughs, I've been unable to really celebrate and spread the word till Thursday morning! The other side of being a #mumpreneur!!
So, we've only gone and won an award! #WOW!!
Jacqueline Gold CBE launched her Women On Wednesday or #WOW in June 2011 to support women in business and area she is incredibly passionate about. Women On Wednesday, or #WOW, takes place every Wednesday with hundreds entering through Jacqueline’s twitter page. When selecting the three weekly winners, Jacqueline looks for businesses that are interesting, that have strong brand values and that she thinks have potential to grow and succeed in their industry. She looks for quality products, well designed websites and entrepreneurs who appear to have a good business sense and who have thought about what the consumer wants and how to deliver it. Jacqueline retweets the winning entries to her 54,000 followers.
The #WOW campaign is very much about celebrating women in business and the ever growing number of women who are starting their own business.
Jacqueline says: “For me #WOW is all about inspiring and celebrating women in business. There are so many great businesses launching every day and whilst it’s an extremely exciting time, it can also be a very nerve wracking and lonely time. I hope that #WOW offers a place for women to network and celebrate each others successes, I know that every week I am so proud of all the incredible women that enter and am thrilled to see so many women achieving such great things.
So to say I am super bloody chuffed is an understatement.
Why is it important? Well it's always nice to get a pat on the back isn't it. But this recognition means much more. Firstly, I can include a credible award button on all my marketing which gives an instant credibility to the company and will hopefully make more potential customers take note, how cool is that?
Secondly, I've already been inundated with new Twitter friends and followers who have congratulated me and have learnt about TLKC who had never heard of us before yesterday.
But perhaps most importantly, yesterday was a tough day. Juggling was starting to wear me out and get me down. I was starting to feel like I couldn't run the business properly because of the children and couldn't be a good mummy because of the business...oh and of course I was tired, they don't sleep so I'm always tired! It was a low day yesterday......AND THEN! #WOW! Somebody who didn't know me or my situation acknowledged to the world, that it is tough but I'm doing a great job - in both my jobs!!
I salute Jacqueline for spreading her gold dust on all us #WOW winners and taking the time to pep us up. We don't admit it, or even sometimes know it, but we all at sometime need it!
